Joey was born in the small town of Bremen, also known as Cold Springs. There he would build a legacy that will live on with many. He graduated a Cullman County basketball champion from Cold Springs High School in 1974. He worked at Dayton Superior and later found his place as the Cold Springs janitor and maintenance guru. He passionately worked at all hours making sure the school was in running order. With his wife as a co-worker, they built a life of love and sacrifice. He proudly held his position for 25 years until needed retirement due to his health. Along with his wife and daughters, he built a beautiful life in the Cold Springs community. Loving his bride, they stuck by each other and then was promoted to grandparents. Pawpaw Joey was his most treasured role who would've roped the moon had they ask. His favorite hobbies included racing, being an unknown, unpaid coach and devout fan of the Crimson Tide, a dedicated fan of anything Cold Springs, collecting and fixing up junk (treasures in his eyes), and taking care of his family, friends, and community. He had a heart to help all and his family and friends are forever moved. Joey will be deeply missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olvin and Martha Graves and father-in-law, Marion "Little John" Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Deb Williams Graves; daughters, Shannon (Jason) White and Kaci (Brett) Williams; grandchildren, Rilee (Noah Henderson) White, Brodi Williams, Zeke White, Joci Williams, and Joli Williams; brother, Micheal (Anice) Graves; mother-in-law, Clothell Williams; a host of family, friends, and the Cold Springs Community.

The family wishes to extend our thanks to our family, churches, and community. Your outpouring of love will stay with us always. Also, thank you to the staff of Cullman Regional who loved our Joey as their own.
