Timothy Lee Collins

Timothy Lee Collins was born on January 29, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Doris and Howard Collins. He passed away on September 17, 2018. Tim is preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Skyland Blue Collins and Sawyer Kate Collins. He is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany Abbott – Collins and his daughter, Ella Abbott, family and friends.
Tim devoted his earlier years in the healing arts and natural health world, as a naturopathic doctor helping patients recover from illnesses and difficult to treat and diagnose maladies. He provided nutritional and emotional support as well as acupuncture, giving many relief and recovery oftentimes reversing their conditions. In his younger years, he was a very skilled golfer and talented musician. He successfully ran vitamin and wellness companies that gave patients the tools they needed to be the healthiest versions of themselves.
When Tim, Tiffany and Ella moved to Cullman, he began Cullman Today, a local online newspaper that allowed him to connect with the community in a real and heartfelt way. Cullman Today was a passion of Tim’s and it allowed him to meet some of his very best friends in life and people he came to love and considered family. It gave him a front row seat to some of the most exciting scenes and interesting people he had encountered in his life in this tiny town. He was also able to connect with law enforcement, EMS, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, first responders and Veterans. Tim shared on more than one occasion that he was their biggest fan. “Those are my heroes,” he would say. Tim loved serving on the United Way board and helping others. He was constantly using Cullman Today as a platform to get the word out to help service organizations with their projects. He wanted to know how he could help others and how he could be a good friend.
Tim was a beloved father and husband and adored by many in the community. Although he was not from Cullman, he quickly became one of the community. He had a beautiful and unique way of seeing the world and a way of putting everyone he came in to contact with at ease immediately. He left the world a better place than he found it. Tim was loved by many and will be missed infinitely.
