Christos “Chris” Cassimus

Cristos “Chris” Cassimus Huntsville Cristos “Chris” Cassimus, age 80, of Huntsville, died Wednesday. A Graveside Service with Military Honors by the U.S. Army will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Decatur City Cemetery. Pastor Brad Eades will officiate and Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home will be directing. Chris was born June 13, 1936, in Decatur, to George D. Cassimus and Alice Sockwell Cassimus who both precede him in death. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1954. He graduated from Florence State College in 1958 where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Chris honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1959-1961, where he obtained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1971 with a Masters of Arts in Public Administration. He retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal where he worked as Program/Budget Analyst. Survivors include a Sister-in-Law; Patsy Byars Cassimus, two nephews; David Cassimus and his wife Debbie, and George Cassimus III, three great nephews; George Cassimus IV, Jason Cassimus, and William Cassimus, and two great nieces; Caroline Woody and Torrey Cassimus.
