Joseph Elba “Joe” Greenhaw, 76 of Union Grove died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Marshall Medical Center North. Mr. Greenhaw was born October 5, 1937 in Morgan County, the son of Robert A. and Jewel Greenhaw. He was married to the former Tempie N. Royster and a previous resident of Decatur where he worked as foreman, 1st steam trap technician for Monsano, Decatur and later retired in 1992. He and his wife have now called the Union Grove area home for several years. He was a music director since age 16 and a member of Highland Baptist Church since 1994, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many. He was also a member of Union Grove Lodge # 320 F. & A. M. and the Romeo Club which meets for breakfast each Wednesday at 8 a.m. He is survived by his wife Tempie Greenhaw; a daughter: Gina Laverne Greenhaw-Lacey; granddaughter and spouse: Josie Minna “Minnie” Lacey-Johnson (Daniel); two great grandsons: Josiah Johnson and Sam Johnson; a brother: Bill Greenhaw; two sisters: Delores Baker and Alice Miller; preceded in death by a son-in-law: Joe Lacey, a grandson: Jody Lynn Lacey, his parents: Robert and Jewel Greenhaw and a brother: Robert Oscar Greenhaw. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City Brother Eldredge Criscoe and Brother Keith Pool, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City.
